TeeFury Super Gaming Collection

TeeFury Gaming Tee Collection

TeeFury has an exclusive gaming tee collection that I thought was just until February 2. But I guess that was to get them at a sale price. They are all still available as of July 24th for $20 each. You can check out my two favorites at ConsoleLife.com. I don't mention games often, because I mostly write about TV here, and a bit of movies and music and whatever random thing pops into my head. There's hardly a moment to write about anything else, but I play them as much as I can. Recently, I've rearranged my work schedule (because I can) just so I can play more. For quite a while I would go weeks without playing because I had so much work and I was getting distracted with other things. I finally figured everything out, though, so I'm happy.

I started a blog specifically for games to be more focused, and I had a domain I wanted to use. I kept notes for the past three years while playing, but I almost never found a few moments where I could edit them into something coherent. Things don't always go how you envision. Hopefully, I'll have more time now since I quit a job that I just couldn't do efficiently anymore and once I finally get my updates here live. Reinbeast.com will be moving to a new template (after some tweaking) that is actually responsive. After that I can stop fiddling and devote some more time to talking about games.

Fringe Left Us Two Years Ago

1/18/2015

I already retweeted this video from @DannaAissa. Then a little while later I decided I wanted to Pin it, because I haven't done much with my Terrific Television board since last summer and I was there already adding some Doctor Who. Then immediately after I pinned it, I wondered why I hadn't thought of at least mentioning the second-year anniversary of the end of Fringe, a show I used to endlessly talk about. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I feel like a bad fan having not had a moment to rewatch in so long. I need to do that, because Fringe is one of the most emotionally true and beautifully acted shows I've ever had the pleasure of falling in love with.

If I ever have a chance to start drawing again, Fringe will have to be one of my first subjects. Walter and Peter in one of the many precious father-son moments? Olivia remembering Peter? Maybe something about Naked Tuesday. I don't know. For now I can at least honor it with a few more words (among the few thousand I've already written), someone else's superb video editing skills, and four great t-shirts from RedBubble that are available below. There were never enough t-shirts celebrating this superb series.

Iron Man Versus The Flash

1/12/2015

Yeah, I Can Fly Iron Man TeeSpeed Lightning The Flash Tee

There are always so many t-shirts out there that I would like to talk about/to own, but there just isn't time/money. I'm making at least some time for this TeeFury battle, though, which lasts only until the end of the day. I would buy both of them if I hadn't just spent so much on my renewed Doctor Who obsession. I've loved that show since I was a kid and public TV played it, the family gathering to watch the incredibly long-running, imaginative, adventurous, strange little British import. Unfortunately, in the past my degree of obsession has waned a bit with there being so much time between new seasons and life getting in the way of rewatches. But I'm determined to not let that happen again. Capaldi was so tremendous, as lovely as anyone before, and I got an issue of Doctor Who Magazine for Christmas to fuel the fire. Now I've bought a bunch of back issues, and the Blu-ray of series 8 of course, and I have to curb the spending for a bit.

Wait, what am I doing? I should be talking about the shirts for anyone who's actually still reading. When Tony Stark was wounded in the first Iron Man and found out he was a walking dead man, when he got serious, when he talked about protecting the people that he put in harm's way, I was reminded how great of an actor Robert Downey, Jr. is. To bring gravitas to the superhero movie genre, which no stranger to bad scripts and stiff acting, is a great feat. I just realized I don't have any dedicated Iron Man shirts like Yeah, I Can Fly by fj209. I have a mashup Iron Man/Mario Star shirt, though, called Star Powered, which is still at Shirt.Woot. That makes this no spending thing even harder. You may say it's just $11. Yeah, but saying that every time tends to add up very quickly.

The Flash shirt, Speed Lightning by kharmazero, is also really well done. It's not quite the same old symbol you've seen hundreds of times. This one looks like the Flash running circles with him there at the bottom of the lightning bolt. I don't know why these two were paired today, other than being comic book heroes who wear red suits, one metal, the other not quite so much. One's in the movies, the other TV. One's a playboy billionaire with lots of toys, the other a lovelorn 20-something with super speed. One's Marvel, the other DC. But for me it makes a certain sense, because they have one thing in common -- heart.

Guardians of the Galaxy Quote Tees

I was floored by the quality of Guardians of the Galaxy. I kept my expectations low because there was a walking tree and a talking raccoon. I wondered how that would work in live action Marvel. Don't know why I didn't just think back to the likes of The Lord of the Rings or Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's worked before and Marvel is terrific at making things work. I knew that and still didn't expect much. Boy, was I wrong. I love being wrong. I hardly ever let myself get excited for any movie so that I won't be disappointed if it turns out to be not so good. What a wonderful surprise this one was.

I recently saw Guardians again. Got it for Christmas. It's no less fun, exciting, hilarious, or emotional the third time through, as I suspect the thirtieth will be. It instantly became one of my favorite movies, particularly for a number of great quotes. Three of those quotes are available in the two-day flash sale and one other -- all by DoodleDee -- as part of today's TwoFury. Also, there's a Rocket Bob Ross and his happy little Groot by ZombieDollars (Nik Holmes). I can't stop smiling at that one.

[Update]  The flash sale may be over, but these quote shirts are still available, now for $20 each. Unfortunately, since Happy Little Tree, wasn't a part of that collection, it is not for sale on TeeFury anymore. I also can't find it at ZombieDollar's RedBubble or TeePublic stores.
