A while ago I overpaid my estimated taxes (doubled them!), because I apparently had scheduled an automatic payment the quarter before. And I wouldn't think there would be a point in trying to get it refunded, because it's the government and they would probably just give me the runaround and tell me it will be refunded at tax time. So, I saved myself the hassle. And who knows? I might end up owing more anyway, so I took the hit.
Well, it's getting to be that time again and fortunately I remembered what happened last time. Of course, I couldn't be sure it was going to be automatic again. It could have been a one-time thing. You never want to be wondering about that, especially not if you use TaxAct. It's a bit of a nightmare to find the information I needed. I was going through the forms again as if I was going to file. After searches didn't help in the slightest, I found it in the Electronic Filing Status Report, which you can find by clicking "My TaxAct" on the top right, which I tried immediately but didn't kniw where to go after that. In there is a line that says, "Click here to view the Federal Electronic Filing Instructions for this return." And there they are: the next two payments set to go. It's nice not to completely waste money that I could be using for Christmas instead. Woohoo!
I miss Bob Malooga. I found him hilarious when I was younger, and this scene still cracks me up. Big Man on Campus is never on TV. According to one comment, it seems the masters burned in a fire at some point, so it will never be released on anything but VHS. Very sad. I guess if I ever see it at a tag sale, I will have to snatch it up. There are only seven copies available on Amazon, starting at $37.95!
For some reason the word "cookie" made me think of Boston Common. Hmm, I don't remember it having anything to do with cookies. I watched the show, probably because there was nothing else on. It wasn't good, though.
Then of course, I thought of Boston Legal. Far, far superior to the comedy above. Sadly, there are very few clips. Most are from The Practice. But this is one of the best.
And Boston Public, another very good show, but I don't remember much of it now.
It's like my brain is bored while I'm working and goes off to have some fun. Very distracting. Pure Luck is hardly ever on. How can you not love Martin Short?
When's the last time any channel played Delirious? The late '90s?
More movies played in my head this week while working. It happens when I hear random words. This is starting to get distracting. I need to be more focused.
Masters of the Universe: The live action He-Man movie. Far from the best thing in the universe.
Time Bandits: I still love it since it has one of my favorite lines, "Dear Benson, you are so mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence." Couldn't find that clip, so here's another funny one.
Baron Munchausen: "That sounds nasty. Is it contagious?"
Mom and Dad Save the World: That Time Bandits clip reminded me of the "Shoot yourself in the head" scene in this movie. Since I couldn't find that one either, here's some fun with the light grenade. Yeah, this is a bad movie, but I love it.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: It's been a very long time since I last saw this.
Darby O'Gill and the LittlePeople: No little people in this scene, but this was probably always my favorite part.
Here we go again. I was just sitting at the computer, minding my own business, trying to work, and my brain flashed random clips at me from things I watched years ago, sometimes just once. Seems to happen mostly while I'm working, so either a voice I hear or a word I'm typing will trigger it. Very distracting.
Bram & Alice: The show was certainly not the greatest, but it had Alfred Molina and Traylor Howard (Monk), so it was at least worth trying. I do remember liking it. I couldn't find any clips, so here's a fan video focusing on the assistant, Paul.
Since there were no clips of Bram & Alice, here's a bit of Ladies Man instead.
Until the series ends, I'll always be behind adding to this playlist. I had to stop for quite a while, so there's a big gap. Still, there are 170 songs to enjoy.
This is the essence of The Blacklist. Probably my favorite is Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence." The scene it played over was one of the most devastating ever in the series.
