I already retweeted this video from @DannaAissa. Then a little while later I decided I wanted to Pin it, because I haven't done much with my Terrific Television board since last summer and I was there already adding some Doctor Who. Then immediately after I pinned it, I wondered why I hadn't thought of at least mentioning the second-year anniversary of the end of Fringe, a show I used to endlessly talk about. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I feel like a bad fan having not had a moment to rewatch in so long. I need to do that, because Fringe is one of the most emotionally true and beautifully acted shows I've ever had the pleasure of falling in love with.
If I ever have a chance to start drawing again, Fringe will have to be one of my first subjects. Walter and Peter in one of the many precious father-son moments? Olivia remembering Peter? Maybe something about Naked Tuesday. I don't know. For now I can at least honor it with a few more words (among the few thousand I've already written), someone else's superb video editing skills, and four great t-shirts from RedBubble that are available below. There were never enough t-shirts celebrating this superb series.
Of course! Why wouldn't I miss these? It's a Two Fury day, which means two shirts compete. They both ended up being Fringe shirts, and at a time when I cannot buy. And it happens that I was so busy updating my sites that I didn't see the email about them, so the sale is almost over. Perfect timing. Only four hours left to get yours for $11 a piece. And four hours left for me to regret my decision not to get two more shirts from my favorite show..
It took me a few seconds to realize what other breed this Fringe shirt was crossed with. I knew "I want to Observe" sounded familiar... Oh, yeah, The X-Files! I've seen the poster dozens of times, but not any time recently. Perfect not just because they're both great sci-fi, but also that I remember people were complaining in the beginning that Fringe was just a rip-off of that far better show that did everything first. They were so wrong. Sadly, Fringe didn't last as long, but I feel great with how it ended and that it actually got a series finale instead of being dropped after the end of a season like so many other shows.
I wish I could add this to my collection, but my wallet and closet won't stand for it right now. I am definitely bookmarking the artist's Red Bubble page for later. Hopefully, it will be around until a better time for me. But you can get it today for $10. Shipping starts at $2.98.
Tonight is the beginning of the end, a too quick sprint toward the finale in this shortened season, a hopefully joyful, possibly heartbreaking (almost certainly both) end. Actually, the beginning really was last season's terrific "Letters of Transit," but "Tonight's 'Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11' is the continuation of the beginning of the end" doesn't roll off the tongue in quite the same way.
Actually, I've been bracing for this for a long time, since it started getting juggled around the schedule, was ignored by so many, and was continually passed over for Emmy nominations. Like Peter, it's as if the show doesn't exist...to all but us few. But I'm holding out hope that the people of Fringe, never ones to disappoint, will put more than everything they have into this final, no doubt breathtaking chapter, and maybe more will finally have no choice but to give in and give it the respect it deserves.
I'll show my respect by watching the premiere with this t-shirt on. ;)
I'll also be tweeting with the hashtag #TheyAreHere and using one of these icons. You can read the Twitter event rules here.

I saw this in my email this morning and got excited. The first one I recognized was Walter. Fringe shirts are few and far, far between. Still, the design is so strange that I wasn't going to get it, especially since I got two shirts in the last two weeks and my wallet is still reeling from my August shopping spree and will again with the purchases I need to make this month (taxes, Avengers, Dave Matthews Band's Away from the World, Mumford & Sons' Babel, Fringe season 4, et cetera).
Edit, 9/12/12: Crap! Just found out that Joachim Witt is releasing "DOM" this month. That's another $30 at least.
I started reading the comments and saw that some were loving the design and some were not, and some were getting it even though they didn't quite get it. I immediately thought of the episode "Ability," where skin grew over a man's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, so this actually fits the Fringeverse well. And it is sufficiently creepy while also being somewhat cute. I also saw a comment from medoragrace and so I went to Twitter and found out that she really wanted me to go to TeeFury today. That and the fact that the designer said he wanted to "provoke a feeling of restlessness, tension and suspense" decided it for me and now I love it.
